Long Beach

The place at a glance

Located on the west coast of Koh Rong, Long Beach is an enormous stretch of white sand bordered by turquoise water. Much quieter than Long Set Beach, it’s ideal for swimming, walking along the shore or simply enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Its west-facing location also makes it a lovely spot to watch the sunset.

What we loved

We discovered Long Beach late in the afternoon while exploring Koh Rong by scooter. The weather was beautiful and, despite the enormous size of the beach, we barely saw anyone! We loved that feeling of space, with sand stretching as far as the eye could see and turquoise water that made us want to jump straight in. To be completely honest, though, we were a little disappointed to see quite a lot of rubbish in certain areas. It’s a shame because the setting really is beautiful.

Our tip

If you’re exploring Koh Rong by scooter, we’d recommend saving Long Beach for late afternoon. The light is especially beautiful, and you can even stay to watch the sunset. Don’t forget insect repellent either: sandflies can be particularly annoying on the island’s beaches!
