Legal notice, cookies and data protection
Essential information about the website publisher, the data we process, cookies and your choices.
1. Publisher, controller and hosting
Publishers and data controllers: Matthieu and Sebastien, Swiss private individuals based in Lausanne, for the personal website matthieuandsebastien.com.
Contact: use the contact form. This is the contact channel for any question about the website or your data.
Hosting: Infomaniak Network SA, Rue Eugène-Marziano 25, 1227 Les Acacias (GE), Switzerland.
2. Website purpose
This public, international website shares our world tour through articles, an itinerary, discoveries, tips and recommendations. It also lets visitors contact us and submit a collaboration proposal on the relevant pages.
Stories, tips and recommendations reflect personal experience at the time of publication. They are not professional advice and may change without notice.
3. Data processed and purposes
- Browsing and security: IP address, date and time, requested page or action, browser technical information, server logs and anti-abuse signals, to deliver the website, secure sessions and limit automated attempts.
- Contact: first name, last name, email address and message, to reply and follow up.
- Collaboration: contact data plus collaboration type, brand or organisation, indicative budget and project description when you provide them voluntarily.
- Consent: cookie choices, consent identifier and choice timestamp managed by KookiOk.
- Audience: if you accept analytics, page views, interactions, device, approximate area and traffic source through Google Analytics 4.
- Restricted administration: account, session and login traces needed to manage the website securely.
Depending on the context, processing responds to your request, relies on your consent, or is necessary for our legitimate interests in operation, security and abuse prevention. Where the GDPR applies, the corresponding bases are steps taken at your request before entering an agreement, consent and legitimate interests.
5. Third-party content and links
Some pages may display YouTube videos through the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com domain. Playing a video may still send Google/YouTube your IP address, device information and the page viewed, and may use trackers depending on your choices and interactions.
Google Maps, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other third-party destinations are external links. Those services receive data only when you open them and then apply their own policies.
6. Recipients and international transfers
- Matthieu and Sebastien and, where necessary, the recipients of our email accounts: messages and proposals.
- Infomaniak Network SA (Switzerland): hosting, infrastructure, security and email services.
- KookiOk (consent-management platform, hosted in the European Union — Microsoft Azure, France): management and technical evidence of consent choices.
- Google Ireland Limited (Ireland), Google LLC and its subprocessors: Google Analytics and YouTube, only when the relevant service is authorised or used.
Consent data (KookiOk) is processed within the European Union. Audience measurement and videos (Google) may involve processing in the United States or other countries where the provider operates. Where a country is not recognised as adequate, we rely on the transfer mechanisms and safeguards announced by those providers.
7. Retention periods
- Contact or collaboration messages: while handling and following up the request, then for as long as reasonably needed to document the exchange or meet an obligation.
- Sessions: until expiry or logout.
- Technical and anti-abuse logs: for a limited period proportionate to security and incident diagnosis, then deleted or overwritten.
- KookiOk choices: up to one year unless changed or withdrawn earlier.
- Google Analytics data: according to the retention selected in the Analytics property and Google rules; cookies follow the current KookiOk inventory.
8. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction or deletion, restriction, data portability where relevant, or object to processing. You can withdraw consent at any time without retroactive effect.
Use the contact form and describe your request. We may ask for information strictly necessary to verify your identity. You may also contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or the competent authority where you live.
9. Security
The website uses HTTPS, access controls, protected sessions, anti-abuse limits and suitable backup measures. Because no connected system can provide absolute security, we reassess these measures as the risks and website evolve.
10. Intellectual property, liability and applicable law
Unless stated otherwise, the website’s texts, photographs, videos, graphics, brands and elements are protected. Substantial reproduction, adaptation or distribution without prior permission is prohibited, subject to legal exceptions.
We aim to provide high-quality information but cannot guarantee it is always complete, available or current. Third-party websites remain their publishers’ responsibility. Swiss law applies, subject to any mandatory rules applicable to the visitor.
11. Changes to this page
We update this page when website features, providers or applicable rules change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
