Together since 2016. More than a hundred days on the road, without spending a single day apart. Loving someone and spending every hour of your life with them are two completely different skills. That is probably the most useful thing we have learned since leaving, and no one warned us. We had always travelled a lot, so we thought we knew what to expect. Except a two-week trip and a year-long world tour have almost nothing in common. For two weeks, you can push through. You absorb the fatigue, you let little annoyances slide, you know it will end soon. After a hundred days, nothing slides by itself anymore. Everything you do not deal with piles up, and one evening it comes out in a hotel room for a reason that has nothing to do with the real problem. These are the five rules we eventually gave ourselves. They are not pretty or romantic. They work.
