How to get to Koh Rong

The place at a glance

The easiest way to get to Koh Rong in Cambodia is by speedboat from Sihanoukville. The crossing usually takes 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the boat and its stops. If you are travelling from another Cambodian city or continuing your journey after Koh Rong, you can sometimes book a combined bus or minivan and ferry ticket.

What we loved

We booked our journeys through 12Go, combining bus and ferry tickets both to reach the island and to leave it. We found it really convenient not having to organise each leg separately, and everything went smoothly. The speedboat crossing was quick, and when we arrived we got off directly at Long Set Beach, about a ten-minute walk from our accommodation.

Our tip

When searching for transport, enter your actual starting point and final destination: some routes combine bus and ferry. Above all, check that the ferry crossing is included in the ticket! Also look at which pier you will arrive at or leave from on Koh Rong. There are several, and choosing the one closest to your accommodation could save you an extra tuk-tuk ride.
