The place at a glance

Taprohm 189 is a small family-run restaurant on Wat Bo Road in Siem Reap. Nothing fancy here: just delicious, generous, home-style Cambodian cooking at very affordable prices. It's a simple little place where the warm welcome is just as much a part of the experience as the food itself.

What we loved

We went back several times, and every meal was delicious! The women run the kitchen, while the husband helps out with the service. Beyond the wonderful food, what we particularly loved was the genuinely warm welcome. He's incredibly friendly, always happy to chat and share a few stories. We had such lovely moments here, with that nice feeling of being welcomed like regulars.

Our tip

Don't hesitate to strike up a conversation with the husband! He also works as a tour guide and loves sharing stories about the history of Angkor and the surrounding region. It's a lovely opportunity to learn more about Cambodia while enjoying a great meal. An easy recommendation for delicious local food without spending much.
