LGBTQ+ venue

The place at a glance

In Siem Reap, Barcode is an LGBTQ+ bar that combines an intimate cabaret with a lively night out. Drag performers take turns on stage with dance routines, lip-syncs and plenty of humour, all just a few steps from the audience. Admission is free, and after the shows, the atmosphere can turn into a dance party.

What we loved

We loved the atmosphere so much that we went back several times during our stay! Between the drag shows and how easily we met people, the evenings flew by. We also spent ages chatting with Larry, the lovely French owner, who told us how he came to open the bar. And Matthieu ended up on stage every time we visited — you’d think the drag queens had a thing for him!

Our tip

If you go on a Saturday, arrive a little early to get a good view of the stage: we saw the bar absolutely packed. Drinks cost more than at many other bars in Siem Reap, but the shows are free. For us, the atmosphere and performances easily made up for the difference.
