Soho, London’s gay district
Neighbourhoods
LGBTQ+ venue
A venue intended for the wider LGBTQ+ community.
The place at a glance
In central London, Soho is a major hub of British LGBTQ+ life. Its gay scene is centered around Old Compton Street, with historic pubs, bars, drag performances and venues for both chatting and partying.
What we loved
What we love about Soho is being able to move from a lively pub to another bar in minutes, surrounded by a wonderfully varied crowd. The streets have a special energy, particularly when everyone gathers outside between drinks. It’s a neighborhood where we always enjoy starting our London nights out.
Our tip
Start your evening fairly early: many pubs and bars close around 11 pm or midnight, although some venues stay open later. If you want to dance into the early hours, check club nights in advance, either in Soho or elsewhere in London.
