The place in a few words

In the heart of Parc des Buttes-Chaumont in Paris's 19th arrondissement, Rosa Bonheur is a landmark of the city's LGBTQ+ scene. Open since 2008, this inclusive guinguette is named after Rosa Bonheur, a 19th-century painter known for her independence and unconventional spirit. With colorful decor, mismatched furniture and a lively, informal feel, it's a distinctive place for drinks, pizzas, tapas and dancing.

What we loved

What we particularly liked about Rosa Bonheur was having two very different atmospheres in one place. Outside, we could chat over a drink surrounded by greenery, while inside it was all about the party! The music was varied, with something for everyone, and the atmosphere really made us want to dance.

Our tip

We recommend coming in the late afternoon or early evening to enjoy the terrace before heading inside to dance. Rosa Bonheur gets busy, especially at weekends, so arriving early can help avoid long queues. Prices can be on the high side, and service may slow down at peak times. The park closes at night, but designated entrances remain accessible for Rosa Bonheur guests. Botzaris metro station (line 7bis) is a convenient way to get there.
