The place at a glance
Riverside Cuisine is a small Cambodian restaurant in Siem Reap's Wat Bo neighbourhood. Don't expect fancy decor or a large team: the owner welcomes guests, takes orders, cooks and serves everything herself. It's a simple, unpretentious place to enjoy home-style Khmer cooking, with dishes prepared to order and very reasonable prices.
What we loved
We really enjoyed our meal here! The food was delicious, with that comforting home-cooked feel we love finding when travelling. We also tried the fruit juices, which were excellent. And we thought it was such a sweet touch when the owner offered us some complimentary fruit for dessert. It's definitely not a fancy restaurant, but that's part of its charm: you come here simply to enjoy good food.
Our tip
Don't come in a rush! The owner does absolutely everything herself, so service can take a while when the restaurant gets busy. It's also a small place with limited seating. If you're looking for good, no-fuss Cambodian food and have a little time to spare, it's definitely somewhere we'd recommend.
