The place in a few words

In Hoi An, it's hard to miss the made-to-measure shops. The town has made a specialty of it: clothes, suits, shoes… You can have almost anything made to your taste. Even though shopping wasn't part of our travel plans, we ended up giving in too!

What we loved

Seb was the one who went for a pair of Birkenstock-style sandals. The process is pretty fun: you choose the materials, colors and little details, then the shop measures your feet to make a personalized pair. Just 24 hours later, they were ready! Best of all, several months on, Seb still wears them and is happy with them. Turns out a suit isn't the only thing worth bringing home from Hoi An!

Our tip

This is just one of many shops in Hoi An, so have a look around before choosing. Pay particular attention to the quality of the materials, and make sure you try on your shoes when they're finished. Ordering early in your stay is even better, as it leaves time for any adjustments.
