General venue
A recommended place without a particular LGBTQ+ positioning.
The place in a few words
A few kilometres from central Hoi An, surrounded by rice fields, Duck Stop offers a wonderfully unusual activity: leading a flock of ducks! With a guide, you feed them, have them follow you around and try the famous 'duck massage', where the ducks peck at seeds sprinkled on your feet. A fun change from the usual sightseeing in Hoi An.
What we loved
We had such a laugh! The highlight was definitely the massage: within seconds, our feet were surrounded by ducks pecking away in every direction. Between the tickling and the laughter, it was impossible to keep a straight face! The guided part lasts about 15 minutes, but afterwards we were free to stay with the ducks and take photos. A wonderfully quirky break during our time in Hoi An.
Our tip
We recommend booking ahead on Duck Stop's official website. The activity costs around VND 100,000 per person, and the website lists opening hours of 8:30 am to 5 pm (check prices and hours before visiting). Allow about 30 minutes, or longer if you want to spend extra time with the ducks. We cycled there from Hoi An through the rice fields, but you can also take a taxi. Most importantly, wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty! Between the seeds, soil and ducks, you'll probably leave quite a mess. Going late in the day means you can shower when you get back.
