Dragon Bridge Fire and Water Show in Da Nang
General venue
A recommended place without a particular LGBTQ+ positioning.
The place in a few words
Dragon Bridge (Cầu Rồng) is one of Da Nang’s landmarks in Vietnam. Spanning 666 metres across the Han River, it features an enormous golden dragon. Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 9 pm, the dragon comes to life in a free show, breathing real flames and then spraying water. The show is short, lasting less than ten minutes.
What we loved
More than the show itself, we loved the atmosphere. Everyone gathers around the bridge, waiting excitedly, and as soon as the dragon breathes its first flames, the crowd comes alive! We also found it hilarious to imagine someone coming up with such an unlikely idea: ‘What if we built a huge dragon on a bridge that breathes fire and sprays water?’ You have to admire the imagination!
Our tip
We recommend watching the show from different angles. Right below the dragon’s head is the most impressive spot, but when it sprays water, you’ll get absolutely soaked! If you’d rather stay dry, keep your distance. It’s also worth stepping back for a panoramic view of the illuminated bridge. Arrive 20–30 minutes early to find a good spot, and grab a bite beforehand at the nearby Son Tra Night Market.
