Tufia

The place in a few words

Tufia is a tiny coastal village just a few kilometres from Gran Canaria Airport, in the municipality of Telde. Its white houses with blue details, narrow lanes and small volcanic-sand beach where you can swim give this former fishing village a picturesque feel, far from the island’s larger tourist resorts.

What we loved

We love planes, so Tufia’s proximity to the airport was a real highlight for us! You can settle down on the little beach and watch aircraft taking off and passing in the distance. It’s a simple pleasure, but we could happily spend quite a while watching them. The village houses surrounding the beach make the setting even nicer.

Our tip

We wouldn’t make a special trip just for Tufia, but if you’re passing nearby, it’s worth stopping for half an hour or so. The village is genuinely tiny and easy to explore quickly. You can also take a dip at its little beach if sea conditions allow.
