The place in a few words

In San Juan on Siquijor Island, Roadside Diners is a casual eatery popular with both locals and travelers. The menu offers a variety of dishes, especially sizzling plates: generously seasoned food served on hot plates that arrive at your table still crackling. It's an unpretentious spot where the food is the main attraction.

What we loved

We walked past almost every day, and the place was always packed. Eventually, curiosity got the better of us! Once we tried it, we understood why: the food was so good that we went back several times. The staff were cheerful, welcoming and always smiling, and after a while they even recognized us. One little detail made us laugh: everyone wore matching uniforms, but the color changed every day. We almost started guessing what the next color would be!

Our tip

Definitely try one of the sizzling dishes! There are several versions, but our favorite was the Sizzling Chicken. That said, don't stop there: we tried other dishes from the menu too, and everything was really tasty. It's worth mixing things up, especially if you end up going back as often as we did!
