Pico de las Nieves

Pico de las Nieves

General venue

A recommended place without a particular LGBTQ+ positioning.

The place in a few words

At almost 1,950 metres above sea level, Pico de las Nieves offers sweeping views over Gran Canaria’s mountains, including Roque Nublo. On clear days, you can even spot Mount Teide on Tenerife. You can drive almost all the way to the viewpoint, but several hiking trails also lead through the surrounding mountains.

What we loved

What we enjoyed most was hiking up towards the summit. The mountain scenery is beautiful, and new viewpoints gradually open up as you climb. For us, the walk itself was a big part of the experience, making the sweeping panorama at the end feel like a well-earned reward.

Our tip

Although you can drive right up to the viewpoint and walk just a few metres, we recommend hiking instead. One option from Llanos de la Pez is a loop of around 4.4 km (allow roughly 2 hours 20 minutes), with some steep sections. Bring suitable shoes and a jacket, as it can be chilly at altitude.
