The place in a few words
At the foot of Lausanne Cathedral's ramparts, Les Jardins du Vieux-Lausanne turns a French-style garden into a summer outdoor bar. With flower beds, city views, cocktails and sharing plates from the Vieux-Lausanne team, it's a lovely spot for after-work drinks or a romantic evening.
What we loved
What we love most is how the city centre seems to disappear as soon as we step into the garden. The setting feels magical, the cocktails are excellent and the food is genuinely good. We've spent plenty of romantic evenings here, but we also love introducing friends to the place. The music sets the mood, and some evenings there are even live singers.
Our tip
Come around opening time to get a seat: Les Jardins is popular and doesn't take reservations. Check the website for opening hours, as they depend partly on the weather. Here's a possible bonus: if you eat at Vieux-Lausanne, you might receive a voucher for a drink at Les Jardins. And if you spend the evening at Les Jardins, you might also get a voucher for a drink at the nearby Bar Giraf. Neither is guaranteed.
