Komodo National Park Liveaboard
Less open context
A place we recommend in a context where some discretion may feel preferable. This does not mean the venue is discriminatory.
The place in a few words
A liveaboard in Komodo National Park is a multi-day boat trip where you sleep, eat and sail from island to island. Departing from Labuan Bajo on Flores, it's a way to discover Komodo's landscapes, beaches and underwater world, as well as see the famous Komodo dragons in their natural habitat.
What we loved
We loved exploring Komodo this way! Between snorkeling among fish, sharks and turtles, seeing Komodo dragons, the incredible landscapes of Padar Island, beaches like Pink Beach and watching thousands of bats take flight at sunset, every day brought something different. Best of all, sleeping on the boat meant we could enjoy this amazing setting without returning to Labuan Bajo every evening.
Our tip
There are plenty of operators and options, from basic boats to more comfortable cruises. Some liveaboards focus entirely on diving, while others, like ours, combine snorkeling, hiking and island visits. Compare itineraries, what's included and reviews before booking. Book well ahead, especially in peak season, as popular boats can fill up quickly.
