Banpo Bridge – Moonlight Rainbow Fountain

General venue

The place in a few words

Banpo Bridge crosses Seoul’s Han River and is home to the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, where water jets cascade from the sides of the bridge to music and colourful lights. You can watch this free show from Banpo Hangang Park, a popular riverside spot for walks, picnics and relaxed evenings.

What we loved

We happened to visit on a Sunday during the pedestrian festival on Jamsugyo, the lower bridge. There were small markets, food stalls and activities, with plenty of locals enjoying their day. We loved the atmosphere and settled down in the park to relax like everyone else. Watching the sunset over the river and then the illuminated fountains made for a lovely evening.

Our tip

Arrive shortly before sunset to see the light change over the bridge, then stay for the illuminated fountain show. If you can, visit on a Sunday during one of Jamsugyo’s seasonal festival periods, when events take place every Sunday. Check the festival dates and fountain schedule beforehand, as they can change, especially with the weather.
