Five days on Siquijor

One San Juan base and five days of waterfalls, turtles, beach time and sunsets. This stay begins once you are settled on the island: no airport stage or transfer marathon, and days you can swap around the weather and your mood.

Day 1

San Juan

San Juan keeps beaches, restaurants and evening bars close. Use a driver or suitable transport to explore; each day returns to the same base.

Day 1 · Find your San Juan routine

Settle in San Juan and get to know the places around your accommodation. We enjoyed returning to this coast after exploring without changing bases. Towards sunset, head for Lala-o Bridge and Lekwed Beachbar: the relaxed waterside atmosphere matters as much as the view. Eat nearby and keep the first evening easy. This stay starts once you have reached the island. If your ferry arrives late, use the first day just to settle in and move beach time to the last day.

Day 2

Cambugahay

A trip towards Lazi, then back to San Juan after a swim.

Day 2 · Cambugahay, waterfall day

Head towards Lazi and give Cambugahay’s pools several hours. Walking down, swimming and enjoying the setting deserve more than a photo stop between other sights. Our recommendation includes photos and more detail; check swimming conditions and activities locally rather than relying on an old price. Arrange your return to San Juan beforehand. Finish with coffee or beach time if you like, without circling the whole island again: this day is about waterfalls rather than mileage.

Day 3

Apo Island

An optional excursion, subject to weather and confirmed Siquijor departures.

Day 3 · Apo Island, with a confirmed departure

If an operator confirms a Siquijor departure and the sea allows it, dedicate the day to Apo Island. Watching so many turtles there was one of our highlights. Our experience does not guarantee sightings: keep your distance and let the animals move freely. Confirm the meeting point, inclusions and return arrangements before booking. Treat it as a full-day outing. If unavailable, swap it with a relaxed Siquijor day rather than forcing a connection through another island.

Day 4

La Canopée

A relaxed day around your base, with a break above the greenery.

Day 4 · La Canopée and a proper break

After the sea outing, keep the morning free for sleep, reading or your accommodation. Later, head to La Canopée at Lambojon Terraces for coffee or a drink above the greenery. We went for the view and peaceful setting, so allow time to enjoy them instead of making a quick stop. For a social evening, CocoRico offers a different mood: beer pong, giant Jenga and DJs on some nights. We found it especially easy to meet other travellers there. Check the programme and arrange your journey home before the evening.

Day 5

San Juan beaches

A final day on San Juan’s coast, without changing accommodation.

Day 5 · Simply enjoy your beach

Keep the final day for whatever you enjoyed most: a swim if conditions suit, coffee, a walk along San Juan’s coast or another sunset. We stayed nine days, and the freedom not to fill every hour mattered as much as the excursions. If leaving tomorrow, use this time to confirm the port, ferry time and journey to the pier. If departing today, replace activities with a morning near your accommodation. These five days are a flexible stay, not an obligation to do everything.
