The place in a few words
Just outside Paris, the Saint-Ouen Flea Market is one of the world's largest antiques markets. Its history dates back to the late 19th century, when Parisian ragpickers came here to resell their finds. Today, it's a maze of markets and little shops filled with antique furniture, vintage clothing, vinyl records, collectibles and all sorts of curiosities.
What we loved
What we loved most was getting lost in the little alleys and stumbling upon unexpected shops packed with objects that seem to have a story of their own. One minute we're browsing antiques, the next we're in a vintage shop discovering things we didn't even know existed! It's a bit like rummaging through a giant attic, with surprises around every corner. And if you're lucky, you might find something unique to bring home instead of the usual tourist souvenir.
Our tip
Don't stop at the first shops you come across. Head into the inner markets, especially Vernaison and Dauphine, and take your time browsing without a fixed route. Set aside a few hours, ideally on Saturday or Sunday, between 10 am and 6 pm. And if something catches your eye, it's worth comparing prices before buying!
