Playa del Fuego Camiguin Beach Hostel & Resort

LGBTQ+ friendly

A welcoming place open to LGBTQ+ people.

The place in a few words

Playa del Fuego is a small place to stay on Camiguin, run by three young Belgians. Don't expect luxury or fancy facilities: there are shared dorms and private rooms in a simple, laid-back setting. You can also eat, have a drink and spend time in the common areas. Agoho Beach is just a few steps away, on the island's west coast.

What we loved

What we really loved was the atmosphere, largely thanks to the three young Belgians running the place. They're incredibly welcoming, always happy to chat about anything and everything, and they make staying here a real pleasure. We also loved being able to walk straight to the beach, go for a swim and watch some absolutely stunning sunsets. It's one of those simple places where you feel at home and could easily imagine staying a little longer.

Our tip

Don't expect an upscale hotel: the appeal here is the atmosphere, the people and the simplicity. If you'd like more privacy, you can book a private room instead of a dorm bed. Above all, don't fill every evening with activities: some of the best moments on Camiguin are spent simply enjoying the sunset in front of the hotel.
