The place in a few words
A scooter is one of the most practical ways to explore Bohol in the Philippines. It lets you reach major attractions such as the Chocolate Hills, as well as small villages and inland scenery. If you'd rather not drive, taxis and private drivers are also options.
What we loved
Our accommodation was fairly remote, so we rented a scooter during our stay in Bohol. We didn't regret it! We loved being able to change our route, take detours and stop whenever something caught our eye. Riding through villages and along quiet country roads also gave us a glimpse of everyday life on the island.
Our tip
Grab operates in parts of Bohol, particularly around Panglao and Tagbilaran, but availability is limited. If you're arriving by ferry, arrange a private or shared transfer in advance through your accommodation or a local provider. Only rent a scooter if you're confident riding one: roads can be uneven, and you should check your licence and insurance coverage.
