Sangeh Monkey Forest

General venue

A recommended place without a particular LGBTQ+ positioning.

Located in Sangeh village, around 30 minutes from Ubud depending on traffic, this forest is home to hundreds of free-roaming macaques among towering trees. It also contains the Hindu Pura Bukit Sari temple, built in the 17th century and still used for religious ceremonies. We chose it over Ubud’s famous Sacred Monkey Forest for its more authentic feel and the staff’s guidance during encounters with the monkeys.
